Lisa-Anne has created this latest oil painting after being approached by the IOD Sailing Class, who felt that she was the ideal candidate for the work. Both her meticulous rendering of local sailing vessels, combined with her ability to capture the form and dynamic movement of water, made her their first choice. Lisa-Anne enjoyed capturing the feeling of movement and windswept conditions, very different from her current pieces. Her love for using shadow and light to render form plays a key part in this work.

These unique IOD racing vessels are captured as their race begins. The artist watched the race from a motor boat at close proximity. This latest painting is now available in 3 sizes as hand touched embellished giclee prints by the artist at this time.

The original oil is sized 36 x17`. Price on request. Order quickly to achieve low edition numbers.
A partnering painting the same size is in progress! Afternoon sailing. Turning Point. Salt Kettle. Catch this latest piece `Salt Kettle` A stunning depiction of late afternoon light falling across a lovely inlet near Hamilton. Artwork compliments the painting `Harbourfront` very well. Cavelho bay. Flatts Village. Apricot harmony II. Journey Home. A young boy explores Hamilton Harbour in his wooden boat. Locals believe that the `Wizard of Oz` was illustrated in this yellow house shown in the background. Jew’s Bay. This is the artist`s most recent study of Jew`s Bay in Southampton. It depicts two boy`s fishing from an old wooden boat amid amazing `morning reflections`. It make a perfect partner to `Harbourfront` or indeed as a triptych with `Spirit of Bermuda`. All giclees are hand-finished by the artist in oils. Harbourfront. This painting is by far my strongest scenic paintings of Bermuda. It reflects my love for Bermudian architecture undergoing dramatic lighting effects. The composition is very tranquil and yet the water appears to be moving and `dynamic`. I enjoyed painting the reflections in the water tremendously. Spirit Of Bermuda. This painting depicts a vessel called the `Spirit of Bermuda` passing through `Two Rock` passageway heading into Hamilton Harbor and is regarded as Lisa-Anne`s strongest scenic view to date - a top gallery seller! It was painted to help celebrate Bermuda`s 400th anniversary as this vessel made history by bringing the Tall Ships from Portugal into Bermuda as part of its celebrations! Giclees can be retouche in oils for an additional charge. Edition size is 100 and closing shortly on smallest size. Under Sail. Downwind on Turquoise. This painting depicts a local weekly sailing race that starts from Hamilton and ends in Dockyard. The vast array of colourful spinakers make for a very vibrant painting.Edition size 100 Exploring Castle Harbour. Bermuda`s sloop boat, `Spirit of Bermuda`, is seen here at anchor in front of Non Such Island in Castle Harbour. Castle Island can be seen in the distance and Tucker`s town. The sweeping cloud formations give this painting a majestic mood celebrating the incredible beauty found in Bermuda. Tobacco Bay. This is a pastel painting of morning clouds passing over Tobacco Bay in St. George`s. The artist is interested in Bermuda`s dramatic cloudscapes as is seen in `South Shore`. It translates well onto canvas (due to varnishing effect on water!) and the more obvious surface of archival paper. Horseshoe Chairs. This is an oil painting of Bermuda`s Horseshoe Bay painted with two Adorondack chairs. It is available in its original proportion and also as a very pleasing cropped panoramic format (see sdditonal image). The giclee process captures Lisa-Anne` vibrant blues very well. Edition size 100. Glenola. This is a commisioned work showing a traditional Bermuda home amidst a lush garden with 3 sisters playing cards on the entrance steps. It depicts an aerial view of the Fairmont Southampton Beach Resort in oils. Edition size 100. Fairylands View. This is an early pastel study of a beautiful home in Fairyland`s Bermuda. Thsi idyllic neighbourhood overlooks Hamilton Harbour and is very secluded. Jobsons Cove. This is a painting of the idyllic cove situated beside Warwick Long Bay, with a red cedar Bermuda dingy as a focal point. The vobrant colours and composition makes it a very successful image indeed. Horseshoe Chairs - Version 2. An oil painting of Bermuda`s Horseshoe Bay captured in late afternoon with two Adorondack chairs. Available as a canvas giclee in various sizes and also in a cropped panoramic format also (see additonal image). Edition size 100. The older sister is giving strict building guidelines, which are overwhelming the younger sibling. This image looks incredibly vibrant as a giclee on canvas. Edition size 100. Yellow & green harmony. This is an oil painting depicting a shopfront in oils with 2 youths waiting outside. It was part of a seried of three paintings commissioned for the Renaissance Reinsuraance boardroom in Bermuda. Canvas can be smoothly varnished or a brushwork medium can be applied to create the surface quality of the original. Southshore. This is a very spontaneous study in pastels by the artist of an approaching storm in South Shore. It was one of several studies to be accepted into `Pastel International` in 2001. Edition size 100 Yellow harmony. Dismissed. This painting is a very early work of mine created in soft pastel on umber pastel paper. The base colour enriched the entire painting and it was featured in `Pastel International` art magazine in 2001. The title can appear misleading, but is in relation to the subject being an `ordinary` bakery as opposed to an `important` civic building or palace. I love the way that this ordinary building is `transformed` by dazzling light. This reminds me of how the `light` or `hope` of the Gospel of Christ transforms ordinary lives, making them extraordinary! Edition size 100 and part of a series of three yellow Hamilton doorways. Gibb`s Hill Lighthouse. A soft pastel study of Bermuda`s most visited lighthouse. This is an oil painting of a well-known cycle store in St. George`s and captures a local figure in the doorway. The green unicycle stands out brilliantly against the red. This study is available as an 11 x 14 doubel-matted print or as a giclee on either canvas or archival paper. Edition size 100. Depth Of Space.
This is an early study of a St. George`s lane, which had a striking arrangement of shapes to my eye. The paper is umber and has been left exposed on the building on the right. Thi is one of my early pastel paintings and was featured in `Pastel International` magazine in 2001.Available as an 11 x 14` double-matted lithograph or as a limited edition giclee on paper or canvas. Edition size 100, can be made any size also.
Solitude. This is a soft pastel study of a Hamiton residential facade in muted creams in winter`s light. It is one of the artist`s favourite works. This study is available as an 11 x 14 double-matted print or as a giclee on either canvas or archival paper. Edition size 100. Afternoon Shadows. This image shows three schoolboys playing impromptu cricket outside a Bermuda cottage. The painting was isuccessfully juried and became part of the Bermuda Biennial in 2008. Available with brushwork medium and edition size 100. Cup Match. This painting follows the study called, `Afternoon Shadows`, depicting seven boys playing cricket in the colors of either Somerset or St. George`s. `Cup Match` is a huge holiday here in Bermuda celebrating Emancipation Day when one side of the island plays against the other in a 2-day cricket tournament. Afternoon Light. This painting depicts two sisters outside a Bermuda veranda surrounded by lush foliage. The younger sister feels dominated by the older sister and their expressions are captured well. This giclee on canvas particularly suits the use of brushwork medium. Edition size 100 and has just been released. Apricot Harmony. Casting. This is a series of six paintings that celebrate my most award-winning work, that has been successfully juried by museum curators for the Bermuda Biennial. This painting shows two sisters waiting for a bus in front of an old Bermuda cottage. Posters are available in open or limited edition (/300). For canvas giclees a transparent brushwork medium can be applied to obtain the surface quality of my original oils. Green Harmony. This painting depicts two local schoolboys in uniform in a discussion. The building behind them is a derilect building that was by nature extremely `painterly`. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this work at is was considered my strongest entry for the 2006 Bermuda National Gallery Biennial. Edition size 100. Highly collectible piece, based on the fact it is a signature work since it ushered into Lisa-Anne`s folio a more `painterly` approach to her favourite theme: children and buildings. Blue Harmony. One of three paintings to be accepted by a visiting U.S art curating team. This series reflects Lisa-Ane`s favourite theme: local children beside traditional Bermudian homes. Edition size 100. In The Balance. This is an early study that began the artist`s interest in combining warm, smooth skin tones with colourful rought walls. The young subject is in deep thought sitting outside his front porch. In The Shadows. This is an oil painting showing a group of children situated below a group of tall palm trees in Hamilton. Available as a limited edition - size 100. Surprised. This painting shows a young boy being surprised by his cat. It is a very painterly piece of work and more intuitive than most of my pieces. In many ways I agree with Christ`s insight that children are closer to God than adults, in that their hearts are more pliable and forgiving. They choose to see the best in those around them. I enjoyed the contrasts between the boy`s smooth skin and rough walls and this was my first interbationally juried painting that was part of the Bermuda Biennial in 2002. It truly inspired my series of children talking alongside colourful Bermuda buildings. Boy Sitting. This is a pastel study done on teracotta paper of a boy making his first fishing line, using only black and white pastel, with a little yellow also. Available only as an 11 x 14` double-matted print (see `view additonal image). A Girl Sitting on Steps. This is a pastel study done on teracotta paper of a girl sitting on steps, using only black and white pastel, with a little yellow also. Available only as an 11 x 14` double-matted print (see `view additonal image). Featured in the Bermuda Biennial in 2008, judged by overseas art curators, was quite an unexpected honour for a pastel drawing study. It was inspired by the little girl in `Apricot Harmony` (a frequent model!) and the drapery studies of Leonardo da Vinci.Edition size 100 Summer stories. Reverberant Light. This is an early oil painting of my favourite subject: local children in their island setting. This inter-racial grouping is so typical for Bermuda and makes for an interesting narrative painting. Available as an 11 x14 double-matted lithographic print at $35 or as a collectible limited edition giclee(on archival paper or canvas) made any size. Edition only 100 for each size. Harvesting. This is an early oil painting of my favourite motif: local children against colourful Bermuda walls. This inter-racial grouping is so typical for Bermuda and makes for an interesting narrative painting. Available as an 11 x14 double-matted lithographic print at $35 or as a collectible limited edition giclee(on archival paper or canvas) made any size. Edition only 100 for each size. Girl Studying. This is a pastel study done on teracotta paper of a girl reading in her school uniform, using only black and white pastel, with a little yellow also. Available only as an 11 x 14` double-matted print (see `view additonal image). Featured in `Pastel International` art magazine in 2001, written by the world`s best pastellists - which was quite an unexpected honour! The girl portrait. Boy’s portrait. Oil portrait of dog. Afternoon Shadows in Burano. The latest painting by Lisa depicting a street on the island of Burano, near Venice, which the artist visited. The buildings are somewhat similar to her island home. The amazing reflections of this piece, combined with the vibrant colors of the building, make it one of the artist`s favorite works. This would make a very special gift for Christmas! This work is quite unique in that it is the artist`s first painting outside of her Bermudian collection of images.
Size: 21 x 28`
Oil on canvas ( price on request)
Oceanfront - version 2. Overlooking Dockyard. This is a commisioned work showing a Spanish Point home overlooking Dockyard in the distance. Available as a limited edition giclee or double-matted small print.Editon size 100 St. George`s gate.
A charming soft pastel study of a Butterfield gate found in the old town of St. George`s. Since it is a close-up detail of a variety of architectural aspects it makes a fitting central image between the two `bluish` St. George`s street scenes which both have depth of field. Available as double-matted lithographic print only
Asher III. This is a pastel study of the same schoolboy drawn from three viewpoints. It was done uing teracotta paper with black, white and yellow pastel. Available only as an 11 x 14` double-matted print (see `view additonal image). Featured in `Pastel International` art magazine in 2001, written by the world`s best pastellists - which was quite an unexpected honour! Asher Ii. This is a pastel study of the same schoolboy drawn from three viewpoints. It was done uing teracotta paper with black, white and yellow pastel.
